About Us
The Estonian Association of Appraisers (EKHÜ) was founded on the 5th of May 1995. EKHÜ is a non-profit organisation (reg. Nr. 80060737), that gathers together real property valuation specialists from firms, public sector organisations, schools etc. The head of the board of EKHÜ is mr. Tambet Tiits and the vice-head of the board is mr. Martin Kõiv. The main aims of EKHÜ are: - To improve real property valuation as a profession

| - To organise training and lectures for property valuers
| - To organise the certification of real property valuers
| - To ensure the fulfillment of professional ethics
| - To introduce internationally accepted valuation standards and methods in Estonia

EKHÜ is working very closely with International Valuation Standards Commitee (IVSC), whose member it is since 1996. International valuation standards were published in estonian by EKHÜ in 1997. New standards are translated and printed as they are published by IVSC. TEGoVA (The European Group of Valuation Organisations) co-ordinates the improvement of property valuation standards in the European Union. EKHÜ is an associated member of TEGoVA since 1997. In 1999 EKHÜ in cooperation with Estonian Chambre of Commerce and Industry and Estonian Banking Association, started to give out certifications for professional valuers. The education, experience, knowledge and proffessional ethics requirements have beed developed in accordance with TEGoVA’s principals and requirements.
